插屏是一种陈设性家具，清代宫廷尤其喜爱插屏进行装饰。此件插屏形制硕大，规整厚重。一侧屏面黑漆描金饰湖畔楼阁，画面中几只扁舟泛于湖上，风平浪静好一片祥和之景。另一侧屏面，奇石高耸，牡丹盛放，彩蝶翩翩而舞。屏面边栏于锦地上开光，内饰多种花卉纹。两足敦实，整件器物工艺精湛，寓意祥瑞。
