瓶以整块琥珀制成，带盖，子母口，盖口沿雕回纹一周，盖顶饰一立兽，雕琢细致，威武屹立。瓶束颈，颈饰兽衔活环耳，瓶的口沿与胫部以同样纹饰装饰，为回纹与如意云头纹一周，束颈处则为寿字纹与如意云头纹。瓶盖顶的立兽与双兽耳雕刻得传神到位，显现了瑞兽的威严气势。琥珀雕刻在我国有着悠久的历史，战国两汉时期的墓葬中有近似虎形的琥珀小雕件出土，存世琥珀雕件以配饰居多，摆件则十分稀少。琥珀因呈色不同有金珀、血珀、绿珀、花珀等类别。
