《饮流斋说瓷》中叙述：“胆瓶，胆瓶形如悬胆，又口径直下腹征椭圆形式，有大有小，古时瓶此式尤盛行，制瓷以乾隆为多。”此瓶为乾隆时期代表器，较之同类造型作品，腹部更为饱满雍容，彰显端庄气息。通体施钧红釉，足内施白釉，釉水流淌，自然析出泪痕纹理。畅酣悦目，圈足削釉工致，时代特征鲜明，为颜色釉中的成功之作。
