Medal made of bronzed cast iron; total weight 204 grams. Medal on obverse with Athena seated to left wearing aegis, Corinthian helmet and lance, leaning on her shield; next to her a male archer as athletic male nude. Signed "JOS BREITKOPF COSEL" on the lower right. Inscribed on reverse "MILITÄRISCHE / VORBEREITVNG / DER JVGEND /1915" ; in addition to the inscription, the crowned imperial eagle and the Iron Cross are depicted, framed by a surrounding laurel wreath on the rim. D. 9 cm, thickness 0.7 cm (without eyelet). Sekundäre Silbermontur mit Öse aus 925er Silber und gemarkt "KS". Medaille aus bronziertem Eisenguss; insgesamt 204 Gramm. Medaille schauseitig mit nach links sitzende Athena mit Ägis, korinthischem Helm und Lanze, auf ihren Schild gestützt; neben Ihr ein männlicher Bogenschütze als athletischer männlicher Akt. Unten Rechts signiert "JOS BREITKOPF COSEL". Rückseitig bezeichnet "MILITÄRISCHE / VORBEREITVNG / DER JVGEND /1915" ; zusätzlich zur Aufschrift ist der gekrönte Reichsadler sowie das Eiserne Kreuz abgebildet, gerahmt von einem umlaufendem Lorbeerkranz am Rand.
