带钩初为系腰带所用之挂钩，考古遗址中多有出土。后逐渐演变，明清时期成为流行的饰品，既具实用价值，又可为赏玩之物。
彼时带钩所用质料多贵重珍稀，以白玉、翡翠为多，拍品选质地绵密，温润似玉的玛瑙雕琢，殊美之至。
整体取玛瑙天然色层巧作如意形，钩首、背面钩钮均雕为大朵灵芝，钩身以玛瑙天然俏色，精琢灵芝簇簇攀附，娇俏可人，构思巧妙，色彩对比鲜明，雕工细致，大小灵芝惟妙惟肖，堪为雅玩珍品。
配木质灵芝纹器座，与拍品形意相合。
