Description English school, 18th century oil on canvas three-fourths length portrait of a gentleman, Mr. James Abraham Bodel (1737-1795) attired in a black coat with a white lace cravat and lace sleeves and a jeweled ring, seated at a table adorned in a green tablecloth cloth with paisley decoration, his arm resting on the table with his hand on a book, against a neutral background.
