A SUITE OF RUSSIAN SILVER ITEMS Early 19th century (7)PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE SCOTTISH ESTATEA SUITE OF RUSSIAN SILVER ITEMSEarly 19th centuryThe urn with maker's mark, apparently WER&KN, St.Petersburg, 1830, the shaped base supporting a lobed body of rectangular section, with ivory insulators and finial, 39cm high, together with: a water jug of similar style, probably by Marveo Gretchushnikov, Moscow, 1832; a coffee pot and sugar basin of similar design but by different makers, Moscow, 1833 and 1834, the coffee pot with ivory handle and finial, the sugar with ivory finial; a further teapot and a milk jug, Moscow, 1836 and 1834, both with ivory handles, and a swing-handled basket, St. Petersburg, no date, weight 175oz. (7)Please note that items in this lot have been registered in accordance with the Ivory Act (Section 10). The United States Government has banned the import of ivory into the USA.
