Henri Adrien Tanoux (French, 1865-1923). An original oil painting on canvas. Titled, "Portrait of Madame Paul Faure Biguet." A figural portrait of a seated lady of the Belle Epoque with fancy divan couch, tea set, and spacious interior. Artist signature and dated to lower left TANOUX 1904. The subject's husband, General Paul Vincent Faure Biguet (1838-1919), served as Military Governor of Paris (1901 to 1903). Apanied by late 20th Century photocopy of letter, dated 1975, with article about author, and 1904 Paris Salon catalog featuring the work.
