Charles Nelson Dutton (American, 1865-1953). An original oil painting on canvas. Titled, "Seminole Family Campfire," a figural work with Native American Indian figures portrayed in a Florida wetlands landscape, including architectural elements with a tribal chickee hut, and other forms. Signed and dated lower right C.N. DUTTON 1925. Similar works by the artist were shown at the inaugural exhibition of the Palm Beach Art Club (March 1924), and featured in the Palm Beach Post newspaper, March 18, 1924 edition. Artist biography affixed to verso. Mounted to a wood stretcher.Dimensions: 34 X 50 X .75 in.Condition: Good overall condition having normal age related surface wear, with normal to moderate wear at edges and corners.
