A closely related piece is in the collection of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, inventory number PO 2327. A similar example is in the collection of the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, inventory number AE85342, and a further example was sold at Sotheby's, London, 20 June 2001, lot 266. A similarly iron-red enameled kendi with underglaze blue decoration, in this case of frog-form, was sold at Sotheby's, New York, 19 September 2015, lot 989.
