A ceramic bowl that has been glazed with a thin robins egg blue glaze that is very pretty. The glaze has a crackle to it and very soft feel. The nicely sized molded ceramic octagonal bowl is heavy for its size. The raised unglazed foot ring is quite soft to the touch. Most of the base is glazed, except for where the word CHINA is stamped into the center. MEASUREMENTS 7 1/8” (18.1 cm) wide x 7 1/8” (18.1 cm) deep x 2 ½” (6.4 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 7.9 oz (680 g) CONDITION There are no breaks but there are several glaze chips on the edge of the rim. There are kiln flaws, such as glaze pin holes, areas where the glaze is uneven, and a break in the glaze. At first this looks much like hairline from the rim, but it is only as deep as the glaze and it starts and stops several times. The glaze must have been scratched in the kiln and is a kiln flaw. A very decorative colorful bowl that with the size makes a statement.
