A Chinese archaic style bronze ritual food vessel, Gui, probably Western Zhou Dynasty, raised on circular foot with stylized animal masks, the compressed globular body cast with concave horizontal bands between borders of stylized hooked dragon motifs, set to each side with large horned-animal masks issuing tabbed loop handles, the worn bronze with malachite encrustation, approximately 31cm diameter x 13.6cm high Provenance: From the estate of the late Patricia Bishop. 西周(或晚) 青铜弦纹簋拍品来源: Patricia Bishop家族旧藏 area of holed damage to the side, approximately 11cm long and now filled with glue, and 2cm piece on foot rim missing, surface worn and with green corrosion.
