Alphabet plate marked Staffordshire, England, depicting a horse race or steeplechase. Transferware pattern with hand painting. 7.5" across. These type of alphabet plates were often used to teach a virtue or moral-not sure if this one does that or is historical in any way. There is a hairline crack on one edge(not loose when tapped). Otherwise in very nice condition for it's age.
