竹根色甜，可以制成酒器，常见者有竹根雕松树杯，而梅雀杯少见。此杯尺寸适中，器身上宽下收，一株干枝梅花由杯底盘桓而生，环杯生枝，满枝梅花，花开亦待放。两只麻雀栖息于梅枝上，一动一静，富有情趣。纹饰疏密有致，层次清晰。明中晚期，盛产竹子的江南地区出现了一批竹艺高手，并形成不同的艺术流派和风格，竹刻艺术达到高峰。此式杯流行于明清时期，因其古朴雅致，有自然之趣，颇受文人喜爱。此品造型构思巧妙，雕工精湛，典雅脱俗，且木质油润，是其中佳品。展览：2018年5月18 日 ~ 6月17日，嘉定竹刻博物馆，“竹缘匠心—明清嘉定竹刻珍藏展”。高度: H：8.5cm；D：9cm
