提要：王鹏运（1849-1904），字佑遐，一字幼霞，中年自号半塘老人，又号鹜翁，晚年号半塘僧鹜。广西临桂（今桂林）人。晚清官员、词人。同治九年，王鹏运考中举人。光绪间官至礼科给事中，在谏垣十年，上疏数十，皆关政要。光绪二十八年（1902年）离京，至扬州主学堂。光绪三十年六月，因病在苏州去世，享年56岁。 王鹏运工词，与况周颐、朱孝臧、郑文焯合称“清末四大家”，鹏运居首。著有《味梨词》《骛翁词》等集，后删定为《半塘定稿》。王鹏运曾汇刻《花间集》及宋、元诸家词为《四印斋所刻词》。
