提要：是书原装未衬，竹纸精刊，品相上佳。书前有薛福成序，郦道元原序，全祖望五校本题辞。全祖望（1705-1755），世人尊称谢山先生，乾隆元年进士，后未出仕，专意撰述，一反拾人牙慧、步人后尘之风，不墨守一家，各学用力皆勤，晚年参阅古今善本，七校《水经注》，为呕心沥血之著。薛序有言，其“闳览硕学，著述数十种，水经一书尤生平所致力者”。
