明代釉上彩常见的颜色有红、黄、绿、蓝、黑、紫等，世宗皇帝信奉道教，装饰画面的布局构图趋于富丽繁缛，但布局比较讲究排列对称，绘画技法上大多采用双勾轮廓线填色。此件藏品为呈八棱形，口外撇尖唇，长颈淄肩深弧腹，假圈足玉环底。釉色洁白闪青，足底露胎，胎质洁白坚实，有火石红。胎薄而致密，釉细腻润泽。其运笔流畅，纹饰雅致匀净,秀美清晰,笔意准确。整体器形规整优美，端庄大方，构图严谨，主题突出，纹路生动清晰，五彩色泽浓艳，釉面莹润，器底为嘉靖款。
