白谦慎，美国波士顿大学艺术史系教授。主要从事中国书法研究工作。从傅山入手，讨论中国书法的嬗变；从重庆乡野一个理发店的招牌，引出对有关书法经典问题的独特思考。研究之余，亦有书法创作。2019年，浙江大学艺术与考古学院成立，白谦慎出任首任院长。
