The entirely self taught Andrew Grima joined his father-in-law's jewellery manufacturing business, H.J. Company, in 1946, and introduced new designs and techniques to the company, away from the more traditional and figural jewellery designs, to organic and abstract jewel forms. Through his unique jewellery design, Grima has subsequently become known as the father of post war jewellery design. His pieces have won numerous awards including the DeBeers Diamonds International Awards a record breaking 11 times, and can be found in many of the most important museums in the world, and private collections.
