le couple assis l'un à côté de l'autre avec leur enfant derrière, un autre personnage sous la déesse, monté, 16,5 x 15 x 7,5cm Provenance : Anciennement propriété d'un diplomate britannique décédé, puis par héritage Ce couple divin occupe une place importante dans l'iconographie bouddhiste du Gandhara, Hariti représentant la fertilité et la maternité, tandis que Panchika symbolise la richesse. Ils sont souvent représentés avec des preuves de leur richesse et de leur abondance, et les ondulations sous leurs pieds peuvent représenter des sacs d'argent. On pense que Hariti a évolué à partir de la déesse grecque de la fortune, Tyché, qui porte souvent une corne d'abondanceme celle représentée ici dans la main gauche de Hariti.
