汉代螭龙常雕于玉剑饰、玉佩、玉带钩、玉璧等玉器上，常常以剔地、浮雕甚至圆雕的手法雕琢，与战国螭龙相比，汉代螭龙双耳下垂、眉毛上扬，眼眶内侧眼珠周边斜削，或用管钻套打，强化立体感；汉代螭龙肩与头的交接处呈斜坡状，使双肩突出；汉代螭龙背部有脊线一直到尾部，四足分布于躯干两侧，并作爬行状；汉代螭龙多分叉外卷绞丝尾。
