Hans II von Rost zu Aufhofen (1494-1577) was ordered to restore the decrepit Kehlburg. Due to aprehensive and costly reconstruction which included new facilities, modernisations, and additions, he turned the fortress into a splendid Renaissance castle. The Kehlburg was owned by the family until the early 19th century. Condition: III
