The large, distinguished Viennese Empire desk adorned with fire-gilt bronze fittings. The architecturally structured bureau isposed of dark pilasters arranged at regular intervals against pale-coloured flamed maple as a contrast. The gallery features balustrades and floral inlays, and is divided into three parts by projecting sections, each of which houses shallow drawers. The writing surface is covered in black, gold-embossed leather. The drawer below the writing surface extends over the entire width of the bureau and is embellished with further floral and palmette inlays. Four additional large drawers on each side of the lower section. Moreover, the bureau is designed to be viewed from all sides. Two keys are included. Traces of use.
