A unusual silver figure of Avalokiteshvara , late 19th or early 20th century, perhaps Ski Lanka, the Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion seated in rajalilasna with right leg raised and the left reaching down in a position of royal ease, open at the chest revealing beaded jewellery, the legs wrapped in a flowing dhoti gathered at the waist, the face with down-cast gaze, the hair swept up into a high chignon and with long tresses falling over the shoulders, the figure and base separately modelled, 13cm high, 760 grams Condition Report: minor knocks and wear but well cast and in overall very presentable condition
