AN ARCHAISTIC AMBER JADE PENDANT OF A CICADA, QING DYNASTY OR EARLIERChina, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or earlier. Simply and meticulously crafted in the style of the Hongshan culture, accomplished entirely through manual carving, with no marks of modern tools. Finely carved as a cicada with folded wings and large eyes formed by three concentric circles, the backside pierced for suspension. The opaque stone of a honey to amber tone with russet shadings.Condition: Good condition with minor wear and some nicks to the edges. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. Acquired in the Hong Kong antiques market in the early 1990s. Weight: 21 g Dimensions: Length 4.3 cm
