AN ARCHAISTIC PALE CELADON JADE SCABBARD SLIDE, QINGChina, Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. Skillfully carved in the style of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, executed in manual carving without the use of modern tools. Of rectangular form, carved on top with circular bosses within incised hexagons and a taotie mask to one side, the reverse with a typical square loop. The translucent stone of a pale celadon tone with paint application to mimic russet and cream shadings.Condition: Good condition with minor wear, rubbing to the colors and a chip to the backside. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. Acquired in the Hong Kong antiques market in the early 1990s. Weight: 87 g Dimensions: Length 12 cm
