A LARGE ARCHAISTIC PARCEL GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ CANDLESTICKChina, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). The hollow bell-shaped base with lobed sides, rising to a central bulb between two cylindrical sections supporting a large lobed dish tray. The center of the dish tray set with a tall cylindrical neck, surmounted by a small spherical section below a smaller lobed tray, fitted with a metal pricket. The body of the candlestick finely ornamented and adorned with archaistic patterns highlighted in gilt, foliated scrolls, band of leaves as well as zoomorphic elements.Condition: Good condition with traces of wear and age, rubbing to the gilt, small manufacturing flaws, and areas of malachite, azurite, and cuprite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
