A LARGE ARCHAISTIC PARCEL GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ DOUBLE GOURD VASEChina, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). The double-gourd vase with a waisted neck and a lipped rim, the body adorned with archaistic patterns, accentuated in gilt, and complimented by foliated scrolls, the lower gourd with an imitation of a ribbon tied at the waist, elegantly draped. The sides of the vase with finely incised scrolling vines, and a meander band to the rim. The vase set on an ornamented square stand.Condition: Good condition with surface wear, rubbing to the gilt, warping to the rim, manufacturing flaws, and areas of malachite, azurite, and cuprite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
