AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ VASE WITH DRAGON AND PHOENIX HANDLESChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The parcel-gilt ovoid body rising from a small round foot to a tall rim, flanked by dragon and phoenix handles. The body decorated with finely incised archaistic patterns and a band of foliated scrolls, as well as two birds surrounded by leafy branches within a lobed cartouche.Condition: Good condition with traces of wear and age, rubbing to the gilt, and areas of malachite, azurite, and cuprite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. Acquired in the Hong Kong antiques market in the early 1990s.Weight: 351 g Dimensions: Height 24.6 cm
