A LARGE ARCHAISTIC PARCEL GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ VASE WITH ELEPHANT HANDLESChina, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). Rising from a circular foot to a globular body, with a waisted neck, everted lobed rim, and flanked by a pair of gilt elephant handles. The vase with neatly incised scrolling vines and a band of archaistic motifs to the foot, the globular body decorated with lobed cartouches enclosing lotuses, archaistic patterns and foliated scrolls accentuated in gilt, as well as scrolling vines highlighted in gilt to the rim.Condition: Good condition with minor surface wear, losses, nicks, rubbing to the gilt, and some areas of malachite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
