A LARGE ARCHAISTIC PARCEL GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ INCENSE BURNER WITH COVERChina, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). The large incense burner raised on four cabriole legs, topped by a wide horizontal square rim with rounded sides. The three-leveled ornamented and pierced cover with a large, reticulated finial. The censer and cover finely decorated with archaistic patterns highlighted in gilt, zoomorphic elements, floral décor, foliated scrolls, and key fret design.Condition: Good condition with traces of wear and age, rubbing to the gilt, warping, small manufacturing flaws, holes to the underside of three legs, and areas of malachite, azurite, and cuprite encrustations.Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
