13th century A.D.posed of a delicate hoop, carinated shoulders and biconical bezel, elliptical in plan with inset polished cabochon garnet. Cf. The V&A Museum, accession number 641-1871, for a similar ring set with a grams, 25.44 mm overall, 19.84 mm internal diameter (approximate size British R 1/2, USA 8 3/4, Europe 19.38, Japan 18) (1 in.). Found while searching with a metal detector in Bossingham, Kent, UK, by Alan John Punyer on 14 September 2000.Disclaimed under the Treasure Act with reference no. M&ME 297.
