Age: Jiaqing (1796-1820) red seal mark and of the period

A fine Chinese Famille Rose "Landscape" bowl, with very slightly scalloped rounded sides and gilt rim, delicately painted around the exterior with an extensive view of the Jiangxi Region, with a descriptive four-character inscription naming the scene, detailed with pine trees, figures and dwellings in a valley against an extensive mountain landscape, also painted with a Tang dynasty poem in black calligraphy and red seal marks, plain interior. This and the previous lot are probably part of a larger set of ten landscape bowls each painted with a different Jiangxi region view. Note: According to Geng Baochang "there is recorded a set of ten Jiaqing landscape bowls with similar views". The lot offered here appears to be of slightly larger size. for reference see:

Condition Report: A Chinese famille rose landscape bowl, the bowl appears to be in good condition with wear to the gilding along the outer edge, some slight surface scratches are visible on the interior of the bowl, some slight wear on the enamel, resonates nicely when struck, does not appear to have any major issues, residue from old labels visible under foot rim, has not been examined under a black light.
