Description: An unusual jade carving depicting a three-legged toad pierced at the mouth for suspension and with botryoidal features on the back which have been drilled and filled with metal, likely silver which has oxidized as a dark color. The stone of an even pale celadon colour with an inclusion of cloudy white tone which has been favoured to form the head.

Size: 2", 5.10cm.

Provenance: From an Asheville North Carolina estate. (by repute acquired in Los Angeles in the 1970s)
