李诡祖是民间最受欢迎的文财神，相传，李诡祖为北魏孝文帝时官员，爱民如子，常以俸禄布施贫民，很得百姓的爱戴。去世后被奉为财神。李诡祖的形象一般为头戴朝冠，长须，锦衣玉带，身穿长袍，面带笑容；身旁有两个童子左青龙，右白虎，口吐孔钱和元宝，寓意神通广大，有取之不尽用之不竭的金银财宝，所以也被称为“增福财神”。
