白玉质，致密细腻，玉质感强，包浆圆熟。该器以多层次立体镂雕而成，一条苍龙盘旋升腾，仰首张囗，利齿相抵，高鼻上翘，双睛饱满凸出，两角粗壮后掠，鬃毛细如游丝，气宇轩昂，身躯强健有力，体态灵活矫捷，龙爪回勾似鹰，充满动感和力量，不怒自威。苍龙穿行于花叶之间，枝梗细长，叶片舒展翻卷，花蕾隐于其间。薄片状底座，椭圆形，座下有两对象鼻穿孔。炉顶即炉盖上的捉手，明人高濂着《遵生八笺》，在论古玉时已提到自唐宋以来所制玉器中就有“炉顶”。整体材美工精，孔壁平滑，构图舒朗圆浑，神形兼备，线条生动流畅，转折自然，颇具艺术价值。
