竹 笔筒采用高浮技法制成，筒口筒底镶紫檀，筒身画面通景式构图二乔赏月之景。画面中环境清幽，湖石嶙峋，兰草勃发。仕女盈盈之态，生动传神。面貌清秀，衣带飘然，衣着华丽，满工刻层层花卉为饰。笔筒雕工精湛，刀法变化多样，刻石则顿挫有力，人物衣着则行云流水，花卉叶脉则镂挖出层次，纹理装饰细如发丝。（紫檀镶口） 沈大生［明］，字仲旭，又字禹门，号禹川，江苏嘉定（今属上海市）人，能诗善画，多才多艺，继承嘉定派朱氏的雕竹技艺，与同里周约之并为明代遗民。上海博物馆藏有沈大生浮雕“庭园读书图”笔筒一件。
