A pair of Kangxi famille verte 'boys' platesKangxi period, ca. 1700, China, Purchased from Aronson Antiques (Amsterdam) in the mid 1980's, in the same family since then. Two plates with each a boy holding a flower (possibly Hehe erxian) in a central roundel surrounded by a large floral band. Marked with a Kangxi censer mark within a double circle in underglaze blue.D 22 cm, Rim frits and some wear of the glaze and pattern. No hairlines and no restoration.
