A LARGE GILT IRON HEAD OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI, c. 1920sChina, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). Finely cast, his serene face with heavy-lidded downcast eyes below elegantly arched brows, a circular urna, his full lips forming a gentle smile and flanked by long pendulous earlobes. The hair arranged in tight curls, surmounted by a domed ushnisha. Condition: Very good condition with wear, casting flaws, minor nicks here and there and few small losses.
