A FIVE-COLOR OVERLAY GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE, QING DYNASTYChina, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), c. 1820-1880. Of rounded rectangular shape, raised on a black-rimmed oval foot, and with a flat lip. Carved in relief through the brown, pink, green and blue layers to the milky-white opaque ground, depicting a flowerpot, butterflies, pair of birds, a crab, and other auspicious symbols, the sides with mask and ring handles.Condition: Good condition with minimal traces of wear and age, miniscule nibbling to the foot and lip, a tiny chip to the mouth, and manufacturing irregularities.
