A THAI GOLD AND SILVER FOIL SUKHOTHAI STYLE FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNIThailand, 18th century or earlier. Seated in maravijaya on an elaborate stepped base decorated with geometric designs, his hands in bhumisparsa mudra, the left resting in his lap, his robe draped over his left shoulder. With a serene facial expression with downcast eyes, arched eyebrows, a subtle smile, flanked by long earlobes, spiral hair, and surmounted by an ushnisha with flame. Earthen core still in place.
