Description

四臂观音是雪域西藏的守护神，为观音菩萨的化身之一，又称“六字观音”，与文殊菩萨、金刚手菩萨合称“三族姓尊”，其心咒“六字大明咒”，即“嗡嘛呢叭咪”，传诵藏地，用以加持六度众生，净化恶习及障碍而脱离轮回之苦，信仰影响深远。此像头戴花冠，面额宽广，五官凸显，神态祥和。耳边缯带横出的扇形冠结具有藏西地区的审美特征。袒上身，双肩搭帔帛，胸前饰项圈、璎珞，主臂双手于胸前合十，后臂双手持莲高举，下身着长裙，衣纹光素、简洁，全跏趺端坐莲台之上。莲台较高，莲瓣扁平而宽大，具有藏西地区特色。整像风格古拙，面部特征、缯带样式、衣纹表现和莲台样式都具有典型的藏西风格特征，是融合了帕拉、克什米尔风格的本土化作品，极具代表性。
