翡翠制笔架，致密温润。呈山字形，线条考究。器虽不大，然文气十足，古雅朴实，可谓案头精美文玩，既是笔架山，又可兼做纸镇之用。笔架亦称笔格，为置笔的文房用具。南北朝时就已有笔架一词，唐杜甫《题柏大兄弟山居屋壁》诗:“笔架沾窗雨，书签映隙曛。
宋鲁应龙《闲窗括异志》 :“远峰列如笔架”。足见唐宋时期，笔架已成为文房不可或缺之物。
