A Chinese Ming dynasty cloisonne enameled gilt bronze meiping vase, 17th century, its high shoulder surmounted with a cylindrical neck beneath a gilt rim, sharply narrowing towards the lower section and supported by a gilt foot ring enclosing a recessed flat base, the exterior decorated with two registers of flower blossoms amidst leafy scrolls, the upper section further decorated with large ribboned roundels, separated by ruyi-heads, flower and key-fret bands, all against a blue enameled ground, and between vertical lappets, the base decorated with a large chrysanthemum blossom (openings and small recessed areas in enamels, there is notable loss in the enamel in shoulder area, measuring approximately 3 x 2 cm, wear to gilt, discoloration to the inside of neck, the interior covered with a layer of black wax), 14.5" high.
