A Japanese Sumida Gawa tea pot, Meiji period, modelled as a turtle with head raised and open mouth, a male figure sat atop the shell, black glazed with splashes of blue and white, with elongated straw handle, indistinct blue mark to lower back, 15cm long, approx. 14cm high inclusive of handle Condition Report: The unglazed underside with some heavy wear. The toes of the right foot of the figure are chipped. The finial of the cover has been partially damaged. The handle with some wear from use. No other major damages noted.
