整器形似葫芦，造型周正。通体施白釉，色泽匀净，釉面莹润，宛如凝脂。釉下以刻划技法描绘花卉纹饰，花叶错落有致，活泼灵动。整器工艺精巧，刻划洒脱，釉色清润。 《诗经•邶风》：“匏有苦叶，济有涉深”；再《幽风》：“七月食瓜，八月断壶”；又《小雅》云：“南有木，甘瓠累之”。其“匏”、“壶”、“甘瓠”均指葫芦。因其外型独特，又特赋予诸吉祥譬喻，如因葫芦形似“吉”字，且读音谐为“福禄”，故以其为大吉之物。而葫芦藤蔓相连，结实累累，芦内结子细密，故以其象征多子多福，子嗣绵延，万代福禄。
