A PALE CELADON JADE ‘QILIN AND YOUNG’ GROUP, MID-QING DYNASTY
China, 1740-1840. Carved as a recumbent qilin, the legs tucked underneath, its head turned backwards facing its young which lies similarly posed, their faces well detailed with large eyes, bushy brows, conch-like ears lying flat, mouth slightly opened, and wrinkles showing along their cheeks. Their manes, fur, and tails neatly incised, the beasts resting on a naturalistically carved base in the form of swirling and crashing waves. The translucent stone of a pale celadon tone with cloudy and russet inclusions to the base.

Boston trade.

Condition:
Very good condition with minor wear and few minuscule nicks here and there. The stone with natural inclusions and fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks over time.

清中期青白玉麒麟與幼子組

中國，1740-1840年。全器立體圓雕麒麟與其幼子為主題，麒麟呈臥姿，伏耳，雙眉大眼，炯炯有神，寬鼻，活靈活現。脊骨嶙峋，背部以陰刻線刻兩側鬃毛。麒麟尾則以密佈細緻規整的細陰線置於身側。麒麟與幼子面面相對，幼子仰頭相望。包漿厚重，細部雕琢力求精準。淺青色半透明玉料，底部有赤褐色絮狀物。
