A CARVED DINGYAO WHITE-GLAZED ‘LOTUS’ BOWL, SONG DYNASTY
China, 960-1279. Of stepped conical form, raised on a short spreading foot. The interior deftly and freely carved with a lotus flower amid curling leaves, applied overall with a finely crackled ivory-tinged glaze save for the rim.


Provenance:
From a private collection in Bavaria, Germany. The base with an old Chinese export seal.

Condition:
Good condition with some wear and expected firing irregularities, minuscule chips to the edge and a short hairline on the rim.
