A YELLOW-GLAZED BELL-SHAPED BOWL, JIAJING SIX CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD
China, 1521-1567. Thinly potted with a finely everted rim, the monochrome yellow bowl stands on a raised circular foot, the six-character mark within a double circle neatly painted in underglaze-blue to the base. The glaze is applied overall, including the inside, pooling slightly around the foot rim, and thinning nicely along the lip. The ware is tapering slowly from the base towards the lip, the latter being remarkably thin, almost like eggshell.

A Swedish private collector and member of the Oriental Ceramic Society. Another noted Swedish collector and OCS member, acquired from the above in the 1980s. Bukowskis, Stockholm, 6-7 December 2018, lot 778, sold for SEK 79,625 or c.

Condition:
Good condition with minimal wear and firing irregularities. Glaze pooling along the foot with minor flaking, minor pitting, and a single hairline to the rim.
