款识：戊辰秋日写，胡皋。

胡皋，字公迈。江西省婺源人。明末清初时著名书画家。其画风追顾(恺之)陆(探微)二人，尤工书法和诗歌文辞。明代天启年间跟从赵佑宣抚朝鲜，朝鲜人得其字画后皆视为珍宝。因此他的作品对朝鲜绘画产生了一定的影响，但在国内存世不多。由于经常作画，后来竟将砚石磨穿，故而作《穿砚赋》传世。胡皋从朝鲜回国后，正逢魏忠贤当政，由于不满时政，隐居家乡，以卖画为生。
